Hi, I'm new to this forum and am hoping someone has some help
for a big problem I'm having. I've done plenty of Quark-to-PDF files
with no problems before, but I've run into something I can't figure
out:

I'm trying to create a PDF of a 3-page Quark file using CMYK
breakouts. It has about 6 CMYK graphics (originally began as
screen-grabs from the Web but have been converted to 300dpi,
CMYK graphics) and one EPS high-res color graphic that repeats
once on each page, also CMYK from native Illustrator 9.0 file.

I can make the PostScript file using Virtual Printer, and I can distill
it. But when I open the finished PDF in Acrobat, it opens with a
dialog box saying "There was a problem reading this document.
Document cannot be printed (12)."

I'm using Quark Xpress 5.0 and Acrobat 5.05 (I just upgraded from
5.0 last week, but the problem's been happening before that).

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Sure would appreciate any help
from anyone.

Thanks-

Mary in PA

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
