Topic: Invalid Type 3 font error when plotting, 1 Attachments

I've got a program that I wrote which creates PDF files from an Oracle database. When I try to print these files to one of the A0 plotters we have at my workplace it gives me an error window telling me "The document could not be printed" and then another window telling me "Invalid Type 3 font".

I can print just fine to the A4 and A3 printers we have but the A0 plotters refuse to plot them. I think it's because the plotters support Postscript while the other printers don't.

I'm fairly certain the problem lies with one of the custom fonts that I use in my document. There's around 160 of them and all of them are type 3 fonts. (See attached file) I tried isolating the fonts to see if one was problematic but it doesn't seem to like any of them.

Note that this problem only occurs with Acrobat 5. Acrobat 4 has no problems printing my documents to the A0 plotters.

I tried telling Acrobat to print as an Image but that fails to print at all.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
