I run a small medical office and would like to use Acrobat Capture 3.0 to scan certain documents and convert to PDF. I had a scanning vendor tell me that PDF could distort my images and that I should only use TIFF format. Their exact words we're that converting to PDF image format could 'carry legal impact: alter format, alter content...PDF's can shift signature boxes, squish characters, move tabbed text and columns, lose whitespace, distort medical images and exhibit all sorts of weird idiosyncrasies'.
Is any of this true? Should I not use PDF because of this?
