Topic: Regarding Tw tag and font subsets

Hi ,

Can anybody please clarify this ?

I face the following problem regarding Tw tag .
The Tw tag says
" Word spacing is applied to every occurrence of the single-byte character code 32 in a string."

But when we use font subsets , the argument to Tj operator is a list of indices into font dictionary . But when this index is 0x20 (ie 32, white space ) , acrobat reader draws the glyph OK but additionally inserts space when we use Tw tag . But it should not do this , because 0x20 in this case is an index and not an actual whitespace

Eg
4.80 Tw
<20> Tj

In this case 0x20 is an index , but reader thinks this is a whitespace and inserts space because of Tw tag

Can anybody tell me whether this is a bug ?

Thanks
Remesh
