Topic: ASGetConfiguration vs. Reader 5.1 (Via Email)

In a plugin that I wrote for a customer that works in both Acrobat and
Reader, and needs to act differently under the different environments, I
took the advice of CoreAPI Ref and used ASGetConfiguration to determine
where I was:

ASBool canSave = (ASBool) ASGetConfiguration( ASAtomFromString( "CanEdit" ) );

Turns out that Reader 5.1 (even when viewing a NON-ReaderEnabled PDF!)
returns TRUE to that call :(. So that this method is no longer valid for
testing Reader vs. non-Reader.

I now use this check first, and if it returns canSave, I then use
AVAppGetName() and check for "Reader" as a secondary check - YUCH.

Just passing this along to anyone else who may be affected...

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
