Topic: Pages inserted out of order

I'm running Acrobat 5.0 on a macintosh, and creating large files out of a large number of smaller files. As a result, I don't want to have to insert pages in my document one at a time. However, when I select the contents of a folder full of pdf files, and choose "insert after last page", the files get inserted out of order. This is in spite of the fact that the files are arranged in the desired order in the file. Someone suggested I download a plugin that will add a menu item to Acrobat...it worked on a trial run with a few pdf's I had sitting around, but when I went to run it on the book I'm making, it refused to recognise the files as pdf's, even though they had the acrobat icon, and the pdf extension...dang! why does it have to be so difficult? I'd think that they could make it work on its own...Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
