Topic: Acrobat cannot Print to PDFWriter Error

I will try and explain this clearly.
I am getting an error message when I try to reference the PDFWriter printer.
I am running a VB application which has a Oracle backend database on an NT Server. The application generates reports base on the Oracle database by calling Crystal Reports 8.5. Crystal sends the output from the report to a default file called Default.pdf. The VB application then takes the Default.pdf file and renames and moves it to another location.
This process works fine and returns a success status in the VB Application, but then a Printer Folder message box pops up saying "There was an error found when printing the document "Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer - nReport1a.rpt to LPT1:. Do you want to retry or cancel the job?"
If I click cancel the message box goes away, retry does nothing.
I have been able to recreate to same error message "except for name of report" outside of the VB application and have determined it is an issue with PDFWriter/HP 4000-series printer drivers.
I found a technical paper on the issue at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q180/8/92.ASP
The paper talks about making changes in the system registry
to remove the HP Laserjet 5 Language Monit and then do a minimal installation option to reinstall the print drivers.
I do not have the HP Laserjet 5 Language Monit driver listed in the system registry and the path in the system registry is different.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem?
Any help will be appreciated.
