I was shocked and disappointed to discover that Acrobat 6 which I received May 29, wouldn't install on Windows Me. There was nothing in the promotional mailer I'd received weeks ago that mentioned this. Since I have version 5 installed on Windows Me, it never occurred to me that version 6 would be a problem.

I contacted Adobe and the person I talked to told me the system requirements included Windows 98 Second Edition, NT, 2000, and XP. Apparently Me users are out in the cold with this version.

Further, I have to repackage the software and mail it back to Adobe where I purchased it, and wait for my credit card to be credited.

I'm very unhappy not to be able to upgrade Acrobat 5. I have had every version since Acrobat came on the market and have always looked forward to more and varied features; especially since I use Acrobat every day to create pdf proofs and interactive forms at work.

Now, it looks like I won't be getting any new versions of Acrobat until I buy a new computer again, which won't be for a couple of years.

Maybe this is a misunderstanding on my part and someone can tell me how to make it work on my system. Or it is a bewildering oversight by Adobe that might be fixed somehow.
