I do find these kind of restrictions very odd - given the fact that Adobe does not appear to be inundated with people wanting do develop e.g. plugins, I personally would not be doing anything that could be perceived as a discouraging an already fragile base.

If they are going to charge for stuff, Adobe need to have a solid support and membership infrastructure behind them. Which they don't.

The other thing which is alarming is the way that some of these crackpot ideas make it all the way through to the customers, then get yanked when they realise how crap they are. Like, having to register for downloads (think that lasted 2 weeks, no?)

p.s. would it be relatively easy for P-PDF to run vote scoreboards, like some other sites/boards do? I'm thinking that questions could be put and the results passed on to Adobe paper-pushers for their benefit.

And it would prove/disprove some of those statements from Adobe execs where they say: 'We listened to our customers and they told us... [insert dumb idea here]'
