In response to some scattered comments online, I did some research on the
subject tonight while sitting in the my hotel room in Munich...
It appears that Acrobat 6 (ALL FLAVORS!) now considers push buttons to be a
"off limits" in PDF documents secured using Acrobat 5/6's 128bit encryption
AND with form filling permissions disabled. Doesn't matter what the
button does - submit, javascript - the simple fact of it being some type of
form element disables it.
The obvious fix for folks who want to secure their PDF's but still allow
active buttons - enable form filling rights...
