>>Then they are professional Acrobat users. They are NOT
the average office person (aka secretary, management, etc.)
- nope, nope, nope... maybe a testament to the skill of our trainers, but we have plenty of very, very ordinary office users creating Catalog indexes on a daily or weekly basis
'This is amazing - why don't Adobe promote this feature more? I can now create a pdf repository and make it instantly available across our network, almost like having a mini-DM facility!' - is a comment we hear at least every other week. Which is why I know that Adobe's 'hearing' must be defective when it comes to 'listening' to what end-users want.
>True, but how many of them like the process of CREATING a

- I love it when a techie I respect admits to having a lazy side - makes them into a fully-rounded human being rather than some android :O) [Cataloging is extremely logical, so can be surprisingly easy to use once the concept has 'clicked' - that's why I insist on it being demonstrated/taught]
Now, if Acrobat would auto-Catalog and Index (ala

- agreed. The new IIS filter working with MS Search might work with this.

- you're right, it's just a novelty for me to be disagreeing with you!!!
But Adobe marketing had to make some decisions and I am

- Leonard, I love your loyalty to Adobe - but sometimes old friends need to be told the cold, hard truth before things get out of hand. Or in the case of Adobe, be slapped in the face with a wet fish.
>>looked pretty hard at numbers<< - errrm, the only intensive examination of numbers looks like having been Chizen and co. looking at their stocks n' bonds statements this month... :O)
