I'm just doing some playing around to see what I can get working for a PDF mail merge program I'm working on and I have everything working using both AcroExch objects and AFormAut objects, however the AFormAut.App fields collection only works if I open the reader in it's own window.

Here is a sample: {Delphi 5 code)

gApp := CreateOleObject('AcroExch.App') as CAcroApp;
gPDDoc := CreateOleObject('AcroExch.PDDoc') as CAcroPDDoc;
avAcr := CreateOleObject('AcroExch.AVDoc') as CAcroAVDoc;
AForm := CreateOleObject('AFormAut.App') as AFormApp;
avAcr.OpenInWindowEx(_file, Panel1.Handle, AV_EXTERNAL_VIEW, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);

This works great and it puts my reader inside my custom application.

However the Fields collection of the AFormAut objects gives an error."No document is currently open in the Acrobat Viewer".

I can actually see the document open so I'm not sure what is up. If I change the avAcr.OpenInWindowEx to just a avAcr.Open(_file, ''); Everything works just fine. What is up with this?

Please help.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
