I'm new here but I am stymied by this problem in the ActiveViewDemo (VB and C++ versions) .

The text selection in the code is set to "Select" yet when you drag the cursor, it uses the select method LAST USED in Adobe. Its like the "true" parameter (for persistance) has no effect. ??

For example , if you open adobe and set the Text selection to "Column" and then open this demo app , it still uses "Column" select even though the code sets the active tool to Text Select. ??

The selection method is set with this code:

Private Sub mnuTSelectText_Click()
r = AcroExchApp.SetActiveTool("Select", True)
End Sub

Again, the above has no effect and the demo app uses what ever was set using the Adobe program. Its like the true param does not set the persistance likes its supposed too.
