Title: need a signature field "beforeSign" event.
I am at the US Department of Labor. In response to the "Government Paper Elimination Act" we are converting forms to fill-able PDF.
Our PDF forms are truly like small deployed applications.
Both field level and inter-field/business level logic and validation is being deployed with these forms.
It is desired that business rules and validation can be applied at the following points: on field exit, before signing, and before submitting.
There is no programmatic event that allows rules to be applied and evaluated prior to allowing a document to be signed.
If the document does not pass all rules there is no mechanism to abort the signature process and draw the userís attention to identified deficiencies.
The "MouseDown" event could meet this need except that there are other mechanismís of triggering the signature field, meaning the "beforeSign" event would never be run.
About 50 developers at my organization have proposed solutions. None have worked.
Adobe Corporate resources have been enlisted. No proposed solutions have worked.
Please take on this challenge. The challenge difficulty rating is 10 of 10.
A before sign event that cannot be avoided.
This event should provide an opportunity to evaluate all fields and if deemed appropriate abort the signing process. If the signing process is aborted, the user could be presented with a dialog stating the problem and brought to the problem page and field.
