Topic: Formatting a field on a pdf

Hello,

I'm using ActivePDF to dynamically populate a pdf. This particular pdf that I am using contains "comb" fields. i.e. the field looks like this: |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| For example, if this is the field for First Name on a form, the 1st letter of the first name would go in the first box of the "comb", the 2nd letter of the first name would go in the 2nd box...3rd letter in the 3rd box...and so on. Active pdf does not give an easy method for writing to a field with a layout like this. I would have to chop up the first name and place each letter of the first name in the corresponding boxes. I noticed pdfs can use javascript. I've never used this before, but I was wondering if it's possible to do the formatting on the javascript end of this? Could I write to the pdf form with ActivePDF and then call some javascript on the Open event of the pdf page that would format the first name in the "comb" layout? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
