Topic: Percentage of Xref table in document size (Via Email)

We are currently updating a forms collection which had already gone
quite a few updates. When doing the Save as... we use the PDF
Consultant in Acrobat 5.05, and have a look at the percentage.

We now noticed that we have some documents where the size of the Xref
table is more than 100 kByte for a total document size in the 300
kByte range, giving a 30% share of the Xref table. These values look
a little bit on the high side to us. OK, the form has quite a few
fields, but this is still a high number.

Is there a rule of thumb to determine if the Xref table is
unnecessarily bloated and other means are needed (such as
reassembling the form).

Any idea is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
