Topic: Save Button & Required Field

We have a forms application that is working fairly well. We do have a little Acrobat quirk though I'm not sure is fixable.

We have a Save button which allows the user to save the form via FDF to a database. We have some required fields on the form, when the fields are empty, the Save button is grey and read only. This is controlled through an the calculation script of an invisible field. This takes advantage of how every field is recalculated once one field is changed and the cursor leaves the field.

It works pretty well. However, a person can get around the required fields. If a person puts a value in, say, the phone number field, then leaves the field, the save button becomes clickable (readonly=no). If the user then takes the cursor and removes the phone number, leaves the cursor in the phone number field, and quickly clicks the Save button (the phone number is now blank), the form does save with the blank phone number field. :(

Is there any way around this? Or is there a better way to force required fields on a form so the form will not be savable until they are filled out?

Thanks.
