I would like to add text to .PDF files, without using Acrobat. I get a number of applications, IRS forms, etc., that are in .PDF format -- not as .PDF forms, mind you, but as .PDF files that are meant to be printed and filled in by hand. I would find it much preferable to fill them in electronically, using MS Word or some other tool I have or can get reasonably. I don't want to buy the full Acrobat for that.
Any ideas? I've tried converting the PDF to an image format & using it as a background in MS Word, but that takes a lot of memory.
