Hi, I'm looking for some info on PDF components..

I am starting to develop an application in VB.NET that will use PDF files. I have never had to develop with PDF before, so it is somthing of a learning experience.

I am currently looking at veryPDF for generating the PDF files in code. Has anyone used this and has any comments on it. Also does anyone have any other PDF creation products they would particulary recommend? I will need to create PDF from scratch, and also convert MS-WORD etc. files into PDF. In both cases the PDF created needs to be encrypted. I will need a redistribution licence as we plan to sell the finished product and licensing costs are an important issue.

Finally I will need a viewer that supports opening encrypted files. From reading this forum, I get the impression that the Acrobat SDK doesn't support this. Could anyone confirm this and also recomend a good product they have used that does. I have heard of Glyph & Cog's viewer but that seems to be very expensive for a redistribution licence.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
