Hi,
I am trying to find an answer as to why this error is popping up. We are using Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and Office 2000 files predominately.
Error message - "object label badly formatted" - after this message pops up (usually when in the process of saving the document) it causes you to lose that whole pdf book you were in the process of saving.
I found two "work-arounds" on the internet:
Error Message - "Object Label Badly Formatted" This error message may appear when you attempt to open a PDF file/form when using Acrobat Reader version 5. The file/form will not open after this message appears.
* Uncheck the "Allow Fast Web View" option: Edit > Prefs > General > Options > Allow Fast Web View. This should make the error go away, although viewing of the PDF will be slower.
Acrobat Reader version 5.
Several users have reported problems when using this version. They get an error message like "badly formatted object label" and the document will not open. The Adobe Help Line could offer no useful suggestions at all in the matter, and there are many who have no problems at all.
However, after a little experimentation some users who did experience the problem have reported a 'work around'. They say that after downloading the file, they save it, and then use the Reader to open the file and it works!
I gave those two work-arounds to my end-users, but I am looking more into this error to find a long-term solution and/or cause. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Julie
