Hi,
I have a document which I scanned in and saved as bmp files. The original document is black and white. I scanned it in and then cropped the image to remove the unwanted edges. It is scanned in at 300dpi. Photoshop shows that the resolution of the bmp file is 300.125 pixels/inches. The file size of these 5 files is 1,010KB each.
To convert to pdf, I open each of these bmp files in Adobe Acrobat 4.0 and saved it each as a pdf file. eg page1.pdf, page2.pdf etc.
I then make it a 5 page pdf document by doing the following - Using Adobe Acrobat I go to Document -> Insert pages and add each of the pdf files created in to the one document. ie insert page2.pdf after first page, then insert page2.pdf after second page etc..
Finally I do a File -> Save As (checking optimize is ticked). So now I have one pdf file, a 5 page pdf, which shows that it is of size 331KB.
However, it isn't slow to open but when I go to print it takes a while for it to be printed. It seems it take quite a while to process each of the pages of this document before it prints it out to the printer.
Other electronic pdf files I have printed out before which are more then 5 pages prints out instantaneously.
How can I fix the slowness printing processing of each page? It seems to pause at each of the pages to process each page, for printing before it prints that page out. Why does it do it? Is it because each of these original page was bmp file which was over 1MB each before it was saved as pdf? How can I fix up this problem??
