Friends,
I attempted to activate the DRM eBook features last night on my installation of Acrobat 6 Professional. I'm running Win XP Pro, with all the latest patches and service packs.
When I log in using my .NET Passport, I go to the next screen which states that the Activation should be happening now. What I get is a little popup file download dialog on the screen that disappears almost instantly. If Acrobat is not open, it launches at this point and pretty much does nothing. If it is already open, it just comes to the foreground of my desktop.
If I hover the mouse over the toolbar section, I get an hourglass icon, but nothing ever happens. On another system at work, I have been able to activate the DRM on Windows 2000, so I know how the behavior should be when the DRM activation occurs.
Has anyone else had similar problems? One of my thoughts is that with all the recent Microsoft security patches for Win XP, Microsoft might have broken some other stuff that Acrobat 6 uses for DRM activation.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
