I want to convert some Russian-language PDFs into RTF or DOC, (in Office XP) and then use Systran Translator software to translate into English. I want to retain all formatting because there are many complicated charts and tables in the PDFs.
However, when I use File>Save As> .rtf or .doc, in Acrobat 6, all I get in the newly converted .rtf/.doc text is periods and digits.
If I Select All>Copy>Paste the original Russian PDF into a blank Word document as .rtf, all the Cyrillic fonts turn into question marks...
But when I simply Select All>Copy the Russian PDF and >Paste into a blank Word document as "unformatted text", the Cyrillic text does appear, but without the charts and tables properly formatted.
What's going on?
I am fairly certain that I have all the correct Cyrillic fonts installed in my Office XP Word
