PR: State of Missouri Uses PDF417 2-D Barcodes to Eliminate Data Entry Costs
Dataintro Software announces that the State of Missouri's Department of Revenue has selected its UltraForms Technology, which converts information digitally entered onto a downloadable Acrobat PDF Form into a 2-D barcode, for implementation on Missouri's 2003 individual tax forms. The barcode, which can contain up to 1,800 characters of information, prints out on the mail-in copy of the form. Friday, January 23, 2004

Federal court report suggests Microsoft targeting Adobe, Acrobat
Massachusetts is the lone state still pursuing harsher punishment for Microsoft's antitrust violations, having not agreed to the previous settlement terms between the software company, the Department of Justice and a number of other states. Late last week the Massachusetts attorney general filed a court report alleging that Microsoft is continuing its monopolistic practices by stifling competition with several Internet search engines and with a similar campaign against Adobe Acrobat/PDF.
