Adobe signs more eBooks partners
New York, NY (October 6, 1999) (Nasdaq: ADBE)-Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced that CyberTrust, InterTrust, Plug'nPay, Publish One Inc., and will begin testing and product integration of Adobe® PDF Merchant software and Web Buy, a feature within Acrobat® Reader. Batch Printing PDFs
A new batch print program for PDFs is here for download for Win users - Print All. It was constructed to eliminate the problem of multiple document printing in Adobe Acrobat. It automatically opens all PDF files in a selected folder, prints them, and then optionally moves them to another selected folder. If you are a developer, download the VB code used to build it. Web Buy, PDF Merchant and ebooks
Adobe's big announcement, a plug-in that will come with future versions of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, allows a user to download a secure PDF file from the Web and unlock it. There are two components: PDF Merchant for publishers to secure their PDFs, and Web Buy for the customer to unlock the PDF. A number of known issues have been identified since testing began and these are documented on the Readme page. BCL Computers have just released the beta version of an all new extraction tool for PDFs. Already known for Jade, Magellan and Freebird, the new beta called Drake 4.0 is designed to faithfully reproduce the look and feel of complex data (like tables) contained in your documents.
