Looking for beta testers

Aladdin Enterprises is looking for alpha and beta testers for the PDF capabilities of Ghostscript, a mature, commercial-quality PostScript and PDF reader (with viewing, printing, and rasterized output) and up-and-coming PDF producer (i.e., a workalike for most of Acrobat Distiller). Ghostscript is freely available under the Aladdin Free Public License (essentially an Open Source license except for prohibiting commercial redistribution) and, after a 1-year delay, under the GNU License.

The version of Ghostscript currently (November 1999) in late beta test reads PostScript LanguageLevel 3 and below and PDF 1.3 and below, and produces PDF 1.2 or 1.3. It implements approximately the capabilities of Acrobat Distiller 3; the added Distiller 4 features are scheduled for implementation in 2000.

Ghostscript runs on Unix / Linux, Windows 95/98/NT, Macintosh, OpenVMS, OS/2, and other platforms. Tester releases are made available only as C source code (some C++ on Windows and OS/2 platforms). For public and some beta releases, a Windows executable is also provided because there is no freely available C/C++ compiler for Windows.
