AcroTip No.7 - Creating Bookmarks Automatically

If you created your PDF from Microsoft Word but didn't create the Bookmarks, you might think you have a long job ahead of you. Think again.

Show the Bookmarks Tab (Window> Show/Hide Bookmarks). On the Top Right hand side just above the Bookmark Scroll bar you will find a Black Filled Triangle pointing to the Right. Click this Triangle to reveal a Submenu with an option called 'New Bookmarks From Structure...'(see Fig 1.1), once selected, Acrobat will sift through your document and create new Bookmarks based on the styles used in your document.

Note: This tip only works with PDF files created with PDFMaker from Microsoft Word - and the 'Document Structure' option turned on in the PDFMaker options screen.
