Adobe Serving Acrobat Elements
Adobe has announced a forthcoming server version of its Acrobat Elements product that the company hopes will enable more (large) companies and agencies to standardize on PDF. The initial pricing model may be eligible for future reconsideration, according to spokesfolks who recently offered us a sneak preview, as we recount in our Planet PDF Weblog for Monday. Salon.com has posted a PDF version of the 213-page screenplay for the ill-fated TV mini-series on 'The Reagans,' which was pulled from its scheduled showing during the important ratings period this week after protests by conservatives who complained it was biased, unfair and inaccurate. Two Passwords Are Better Than One: The Low-Down On PDF Security

For people who don't spend their time looking at PDF files in text editors*, PDF security is a sometimes misunderstood beast.

For example, those document restrictions that PDF files sometimes have -- no Printing, Content Copying, Page Extraction, etc -- are essentially useless unless the PDF also has a User Password.
