Enfocus Software releases new Certify PDF plug-in, workflow
For certifying PDF documents within PDF workflows
Enfocus Software has begun shipping its new Certify PDF plug-in to Adobe Acrobat, based on its
recently developed "Certified PDF Workflow" technology. The Certified PDF
Workflow, including the Certify PDF plug-in, addresses common PDF workflow
problems with advanced techniques that:
- streamline the PDF workflow,
- track responsibility, and
- maintain document consistency between the final
production file and the original application file.
According to Peter Camps, Enfocus' CEO, these three issues are becoming more significant as organizations
increase their uses of PDF -- especially in larger-volume applications.
"Large-scale exchange of PDF files between multiple companies, and between
numerous locations, mandates a predictable and systematic method of
certification," he says, emphasizing relevance in applications such as ad
delivery for newspapers and magazines, and all PDF applications at large
commercial and digital printers, as well as prepress houses. "We're
confident that the Enfocus Certified PDF Workflow and compliant products
will become standard for PDF workflow efficiency and consistency that will

Product Line Compatibility & Third-Party Products
The entire Enfocus product line will support the Enfocus Certified PDF
updated versions also available beginning January 15.
Professional, PitStop Server, PowerUp PDF and WebPerfect PDF all participate
Certified Workflow by "reading" the certified "stamp" (thus eliminating
preflight), starting the Certified Workflow, contributing to the edit log,
and in the case of WebPerfect, removing all certified info.
Enfocus will also make code available to third parties for industry-wide
Certified Workflow compliance.
