Promotional Contest for Adobe Acrobat 5 Master Class
Peachpit, Planet PDF are giving away 8 copies during next 4 weeks

15 July 2002

Master Class

We're teaming up with the good folks at Peachpit Press to offer eight free copies of "Adobe Acrobat 5 Master Class" by Pattie Belle Hastings, Bjorn Akselsen and Sandee Cohen during the next four weeks to lucky members of our global Planet PDF community.

Courtesy of Peachpit and the authors, check out a free excerpt on "Embedding Page Transitions" from the book's Chapter 10. Midway in the contest we'll post a second excerpt. See the Table of Contents to learn about topics covered in other chapters. Peachpit is also offering a special discount for members of the Planet PDF community on "Adobe Acrobat 5 Master Class" and several other current books dealing with Acrobat/PDF.

In Chapter 10, Pattie Belle Hastings describes her frequent use of ARTS PDF Tools, calling it her "Acrobat time management system." As is explained in this Guest Product Spotlight at the ePublish Store, ARTS PDF Tools, available for both Macintosh and Windows versions of Acrobat 5, is "actually a customizable tool bar that comes with more than 70 pre-defined tools and advanced Acrobat commands. You can also make and edit your own tools."

BONUS: Accordingly, ARTS is adding eight copies of PDF Tools to the jackpot for this contest -- each randomly selected book winner *also* receives a free copy of the ARTS software.

To qualify for the weekly prize drawings, please take care to complete BOTH of the following steps -- each explained directly below -- and email your contest entry to editor@planetpdf.com with the message 'Subject' of "Acrobat 5 Master Class."

  • Please submit the required personal information

  • Respond to ONLY ONE of the qualifying questions

PERSONAL INFORMATION
  1. Name
  2. Email Address
  3. Job Title
  4. Company/Organization
  5. *URL (*Optional)
  6. See Below - Qualifying Question Response

QUALIFYING QUESTION - Pick only ONE to Answer

CHOOSE ONE of the following three qualifying questions and provide an adequately detailed response -- no more than 150 words. This must be completed in order to be eligible for the weekly contest drawing.

  • Please review the Table of Contents for 'Acrobat 5 Master Class,' then briefly explain which chapter would be of greatest interest, and why.

  • If you currently create and distribute interactive PDF files, or have accessed such PDFs produced by others, briefly explain the specific use and any perceived benefits.

  • If you have NOT to date created or used interactive PDFs, briefly explain any perceived limitations or drawbacks.

Entries missing ANY of the requested information will not be entered in the weekly drawings.

Submissions will be collected for one week, then two randomly selected winners will be named and notified. The previously submitted, non-winning entries will remain in the competition for the duration of the contest, so it pays to enter early! But NOT often -- only one entry per person, please. Duplicates will be eliminated.

Following completion of the contest, submitted information from selected contest entries may be published with attribution on the Planet PDF site, but no other use would be made of identifying information, as stated in our Privacy Policy.
