SAN JOSE, CA -- Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced the appointment of Ivan Koon (right) to the new position of senior vice president of Adobe's ePaper Business unit. Ivan Koon Koon will report to Shantanu Narayen, executive vice president of Worldwide Products.

Koon comes to Adobe from his most recent role as president of the New Technologies Division at BEA Systems in San Jose, Calif. At Adobe, Koon will be chartered with building on the success of Adobe's current Acrobat business to extend the core document-based business processes that power Fortune 1000 companies and governments worldwide.

"Adobe's expansion into the enterprise marks a significant milestone in the company's business," said Narayen. "Finding the right candidate was critical and we are delighted that Ivan has decided to join our executive team. His proven leadership skills and management experience will be an important addition to the ePaper team."

"Adobe is on the verge of a transformation," said Koon. "I'm excited about the opportunity to lead the ePaper business in enabling companies to more effectively create and share information across enterprise boundaries, devices and applications."

Prior to BEA, Koon served in a variety of executive management roles at S2 Systems, including president and chief operating officer from 1997 to 1999. Previously, Koon held engineering and management positions at Shared Systems and Digital Switch. He holds a bachelor's degree in math and computer science from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Adobe also announced today that Joe Eschbach, formerly vice president of ePaper Solutions, has left the company to pursue other interests.
