Get hands-on experience with rebranded, enhanced PDF Forms design tool

21 October 2002

Phoenix, AZ - Public training classes for the new form design tool from Adobe Systems, Inc. will be available for the first time during the November PDF Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Adobe will hold the special training classes on Saturday, November 23rd, and Sunday, November 24th, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The classes are a free, additional benefit for conference attendees.

Among the new and advanced features of Adobe Form Designer 5.0:

  • Easy linking of PDF form fields to databases

  • Automated "smart form" capabilities for PDF forms that reduce or eliminate the need for hand-coding JavaScript

  • Sophisticated form design tools

  • Rapid output from a single XML template that can be rendered in PDF, HTML and XML based client or handheld device

"The Adobe Form Designer 5.0 classes at PDF Conference are not just for forms designers," said Jeff Stanier, Form Designer product manager. "IT managers, department heads and other evaluators will come away with a good overview for how the product can fit into their business workflows."

Adobe Form Designer is a WYSIWYG design tool for creating intelligent XML templates, providing a simple way to develop and maintain sophisticated data capture solutions without involving third-party tools. Form Designer, can create both HTML and PDF forms.. The product can create anything from a simple fill-and-print form to a sophisticated form that integrates with mission-critical, enterprise-wide business processes.

"Because this is an XML-based solution, you have the flexibility to start with a single individual creating forms and move up to a fully-integrated, organization-wide process incorporating other Adobe products," Stanier said. "You can start simple and grow to enterprise-level automation."
