PR: Layton Graphics Announces CAD2PDF Web Store
Simple Low Cost Conversion of CAD Files to Text-Searchable PDF
29 January 2004
Marietta, GA -- Layton Graphics today launched their new company Web site and Web store for offering very low-cost conversion of CAD files to intelligent PDF. Demand in the AEC market for a low cost and simple way of publishing CAD files to intelligent PDF led Layton Graphics to offer an ASP model for accessing their CAD2PDF server product online.
With the launch of the web store, customers can now go online to convert native CAD files to high quality text-searchable PDFs for only $1 per file. CAD2PDF converts native AutoCAD® (DWG, DXF) and MicroStation® (DGN) files to text-searchable PDF files that can be viewed with the free Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. These PDFs retain vector resolution and smaller file size.
Text-searchable PDFs allow for querying across a large library of PDF files to easily locate any text string in any position or orientation. Users simply upload their CAD file, specify margin, paper size and plot area and within a few seconds can purchase the converted PDF. No CAD software is required on the client side to convert files to PDF.
Users can try out the CAD2PDF web store for FREE by uploading their CAD file and previewing a high quality PDF. Once previewed, users are given the option of purchasing the PDF for $1. Please visit the Layton Graphics web store at: http://webstore.layton-graphics.com.
For customers that need to convert higher volumes of CAD files to PDF, Layton Graphics is now accepting Beta testers for a new Windows based ASP product. This product allows users to easily batch convert hundreds of CAD files to intelligent PDF via the CAD2PDF web store. For questions on the Beta program, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
