At Seybold San Francisco, Ansyr Technology Corporation previewed the upcoming launch of its PDF viewer for Palm OS, providing access for Palm hand-held computer users to Acrobat PDF-based content. It will reportedly be available the week of September 4. Earlier this year the company had released a Primer PDF reader [PDF: 14kb] for Windows-powered Pocket PCs.

"This is a very exciting time for Ansyr," says Warren Schirtzinger, the Bellevue, WA-based company's vice president of marketing. "We're proud to be able to offer the only true PDF viewing capabilities to Palm users worldwide. Ansyr is striving to enable users of all hand-held devices to view high-value documents and graphics on the road. Ansyr initially presented Primer for Windows-powered PDAs and now we're expanding our offerings to include Palm, which at this point still owns about 70 percent of the hand-held market."

Also at Seybold, Ansyr announced it has established a non-exclusive, one-year strategic alliance with Maryland-based Consolidated Graphics, Inc. to increase the value of their respective products and services.
