A Danish security vendor is warning users of Microsoft's Internet Explorer of a spoofing vulnerability that could allow a virus to be disguised as a link to a PDF (or another common file format). The site offers a 'File Download Extension Spoofing Test' -- a PDF file -- to help determine vulnerability, as we summarize in our Planet PDF Weblog for Thursday.

Federal court report suggests Microsoft targeting Adobe, Acrobat

Massachusetts is the lone state still pursuing harsher punishment for Microsoft's antitrust violations, having not agreed to the previous settlement terms between the software company, the Department of Justice and a number of other states. Late last week the Massachusetts attorney general filed a court report alleging that Microsoft is continuing its monopolistic practices by stifling competition with several Internet search engines and with a similar campaign against Adobe Acrobat/PDF.
