Adobe this week announced the release of Adobe Reader 8.0 available for download on the company web site. With Adobe Reader 8.0 comes the additional perks of a new "Start Meeting" button that launches Adobe Acrobat Connect. This feature is an Adobe-hosted software service providing immediate online collaboration with Adobe Flash Player.

SmileOnMyMac has released the updated versions of its PDFpen and PDFpenPro 3.1. The latest release gives users the ability to add, edit and remove URL and page links in PDFpen, and access text formatting attributes using AppleScript. In addition, the updated versions corrected the bugs in the "Merge Imprints into Page" function and the redraw performance problem.
