PDF/A Competence Center to run PDF/A-2 webinar series

The International Standards Organization (ISO) published the PDF/A-2 standard in June. The latest version of the standard for long-term document archiving offers a range of extra functionality, including high performance JPEG2000 compression, support for transparency, and embedding of OpenType fonts. To help users get their heads around the new standard, the PDF/A Competence Center will be running a series of webinars.

Gollancz, the science fiction and fantasy (SFF) imprint of the Orion Publishing Group, has announced the launch of what it claims will be the world's largest digital SFF collection. The SF Gateway will make thousands of out-of-print titles by prominent genre authors available as eBooks.

feiPhone has announced the launch of PDF Printer, its new application for iPads for converting documents into PDF. PDF Printer allows users to convert documents into PDF format and share them from their iPads. The app is compatible with iOS 4.2 or later.
