With the shortest Acrobat product cycle in company history, Adobe Systems today announced the forthcoming release of its Acrobat 7 lineup of Portable Document Format (PDF)-oriented products. They are slated to begin shipping by the end of 2004, according to the company; Acrobat 6 shipped in mid-2003. Acrobat has more typically been on an 18-month product cycle. Planet PDF is developing a range of articles to showcase the next version of Acrobat and the free Adobe Reader, including a variety of new and enhanced features. Check back soon for further details.

Analyst expects Acrobat 7 in early 2005

Following Adobe's regular intra-quarter business update for its third quarter of fiscal 2004, an industry analyst raised his estimates for the company and noted that Acrobat 7 is "likely to begin" shipping in the first quarter of 2005.
