Bellevue, Washington-based Essential Security Software has released Essential Taceo -- an email and document security small business rights management (SBRM) solution. Features include the ability to encrypt around 30 distinct file types -- including PDF, of course -- by dragging and dropping the files into email messages.

CADopia releases CADopia 6 software

CADopia, a developer and distributor of products based on the OpenDesign and IntelliCAD technology, announced that CADopia 6 is now shipping. The new product adds the ability to export drawings as PDF or DWF files, along with an assortment of other features.

IMSI launches IMSI PDF to Word v2.0

IMSI recently announced the release of IMSI PDF to Word version 2.0. The tool converts PDF files into Microsoft Word (.DOC) and Rich Text Format (RTF) files to allow for easier access and editing, should source documents be unavailable. The program is designed to convert the text, graphics and formatting of the original PDF, and does not require either Acrobat or Word in order to function. The program can also be used to convert Word files into PDF documents.

PDF Conference closes with a drumroll...

Another PDF Conference is over, and it's time to look at what we've learned. Positive changes include a stronger practical focus in the seminar program and the new expo structure, which resulted in far less down-time in the exhibit hall. The show ended on a high note with the conference's grand prize draw.

Arlington, Virginia's Hilton Crystal City this week played host to delegates from businesses hungry for knowledge or solutions, with presenters and exhibiting vendors more than happy to provide both.

Layton Graphics spins out mapping software company

Layton Graphics yesterday announced that it had separated its software division, known as GeoScience, from the parent company to form TerraGo Technologies. According to the press release, the move was made because the new comany would be better able to on the specific needs of its GIS customers and more easily attract investements due to its more specific focus.

Adobe updates LiveCycle server offerings

Adobe announced today significant enhancements to its Adobe LiveCycle server platform. The update means that LiveCycle now delivers visual assembly of process automation applications without the need for programming and Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) for visibility into business processes and the ability to integrate data from two-dimensional (2D) barcoded forms for paper-to-electronic automation.
