Red Software has announced that PDFescape, its online service for PDF editing, now supports adding images to PDF documents. PDFescape is one of the first web-based services that includes a PDF reader, editor, form filler and form creator.
activePDF has released the latest version of its component for the dynamic generation and manipulation of PDF files. activePDF Toolkit 2011 natively supports 64-bit applications, along with introducing a fully managed .NET API and support for AES-128 encryption. Other upgrades include various performance enhancements, improved support for transparent text and images and the inclusion of over 80 additional barcode symbologies.
Adobe has begun staggered release of Acrobat X, with the first products available October 18. The upgraded family of products promise improved security with sandboxing, user collaboration, and a more integrated PDF experience.
Appligent Document Solutions (ADS) has announced the immediate availability of version 6.0 of its enterprise-class FDFMerge and FDFMerge Lite server software for Windows, Linux, AIX and Solaris. Mac OS X and HP-UX versions are still pending.
