callas software has announced a new maintenance release of callas pdfToolbox, its PDF preflight and correction software. The new version of callas pdfToolbox 5 is packed with improvements and fixes to known-problems with page sizes, page orientation and bleed.

SmartSoft has announced the release of PDF Stamps, its new software for placing stamps within PDF documents. PDF Stamps is the latest addition to SmartSoft's existing portfolio of PDF solutions, which also includes Smart PDF Creator, Smart PDF Editor, Smart PDF Tools and PDF Bookmarks.

callas software has announced an enhanced version 2.4 of pdfaPilot, its flagship PDF/A creation software. The new pdfaPilot 2.4 supports the conversion of additional file formats such as PostScript/EPS, JPEG, TIFF and PNG into PDF/A files. pdfaPilot 2.4 also includes PDF/VT validation feature. Overall, the new version of pdfaPilot increases its suitability for high-volume transactional printing workflows.

Enolsoft has announced the release of PDF to Image for Mac, its new software for the Mac platform to convert PDFs to images. The new PDF to Image for Mac is stand-alone software that does not require additional software such as Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader in order to run.

iFunia has announced the release of PDF Image Extract for Mac, its new Mac OS X utility for export of images from PDF documents. The exported images can be saved as JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP image files. PDF Image Extract for Mac is a stand-alone program and does not require Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.

Zevrix Solutions has announced BatchOutput Office Suite, a collection of output automation applications for Microsoft Office on Mac OS X. The software is designed to automate printing and PDF output processes. As with most automation solutions, users of BatchOutput Office simply need to select the files for conversion or printing, adjust a few settings and the software should handle the rest. This "set and forget" model allows users to set the software to process a large batch of files overnight for a morning pick-up.
