The Planet PDF Team
The Planet PDF Team's experience extends back to the very beginning of PDF. We have not only watched the development of PDF as a standard document exchange format, we have gained experience and expanded our our knowledge through our day-to-day, hands on experience using the technology.
Planet PDF Managing Editor
Dan Shea first became involved with PDF while developing a back-end process for the conversion of paper books for a leading eBook provider. He joined the Planet PDF team as PDF Store Manager, catalyzing a period of unprecedented growth in the area, and during that time gained extensive experience with the use of literally hundreds of different PDF software packages. His credits include the co-ordination of conference sessions, and he has moderated and spoken at such major industry events as Seybold Seminars, PDF Conference, The Acrobat & PDF Conference and Open Publish Sydney.
Planet PDF Director of Content
Richard Crocker became actively involved back in the days of PDF 1.1 and Acrobat Exchange 2.0 back in 1996 while working in the Research and IT departments of a large investment bank. In 1998 he helped to launch Planet PDF and the series of feature areas such as PDF Store, Planet PDF Forum, PDF Product Finder and Web Expo that have followed. His main interest lies in products that help aid PDF publishing workflows, in particular ones that enhance Acrobat.

Founder and former CEO of Lantana, and now VP of Sales at ARTS PDF (ARTS PDF and Planet PDF are both divisions of BinaryThing), Gary has extensive knowledge of PDF in the graphic arts industry. Lantana was initially an Adobe partner doing hardware development for their OEMS, but early on Gary recognised the emergence of PDF as a viable format for prepress and print production and he switched the company's focus to software. The first product, ARTS PDF Crackerjack, became an industry standard plug-in and is widely used today. Prior to founding Lantana Gary held sales management and executive positions at Xerox, QMS (Konica Minolta Printing Solutions), and RasterOps.
