Features
Options is an Acrobat Exchange plug-in for setting the open and security options, and the general information (title, subject etc.) fields of all the PDF files within a selected directory (or folder). It can also process sub-directories too, or just a single file. There is also a watched directory facility, and an OLE server, see the Main Features section for more information.
Options also enables the user to process security-protected files -- at least those to which the user possesses the appropriate passwords. When protected files are to be processed Options will ask the user for the necessary password(s).
To install Options:
Macintosh:
Unpack the StuffIt file emacoptn.sit with StuffIt Expander.
Windows:
Unpack the ZIP file with WinZIP or "pkunzip -d ew32optn.zip".
-
Macintosh: double-click on the installer icon.
Windows 95/98/NT: from the Start>Run menu item select the
disk1/setup.exe file from where you unpacked the software and run it.
- The Options installer will install the plug-in and Options On-line Guide.
- Re-start Acrobat to start trying your new software.
The Options On-line Guide can be accessed from Acrobat Exchange's
Help>Plug-ins Help>Options menu item.
Limitations of the Evaluation Version
Note that the evaluation version of Options limits the number of files that
can be processed. In fact, it only processes the first five files that it is
asked to process. Once this has completed the message `Restricted processing
ends' is displayed.(Version 1.01 processes only the first file in each
directory or folder.)
The full version will process all files in the specified directory, watched
directory etc.
