PDFcontrol is a software module designed specifically to provide a Document Management System (DMS) or Intranet document dissemination system with complete control over printing "Controlled" or "Uncontrolled" copies.
The same document may have different "view" and "print" instances with minimum overhead. The view and/or print copy may include dynamic or static watermarks and database attributes, including name of individual printing, etc. The addition of text, graphics, watermarks and any database information (typically Name of Approver, Date of Approval, Revision Number or any other database attribute) is supported. Default views of documents may be set up and overridden for particular users or groups of user. Permissions on PDF documents may be set 'on the fly' thus allowing document functionality (such as the ability to print) to reflect the class of user or an individual user's permissions. Complex "rules based" scenarios may be implemented simply through user definable templates.
OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
