PressPerCent Pro is an ink key presetting solution for offset presses that runs on Macintosh computers. PressPerCent Pro allows to improve make-ready times, reduce paper and ink waste. PressPerCent Pro processes each page of job in either TIFF, EPS, PPF, PostScript? or PDF input format and calculates appropriate settings for ink key zones. PressPerCent Pro could be configured for any plate size and ink key zones. PressPerCent Pro output could be viewed as graphics on computer screen, printed or saved as Text or CIP3 print production format file. CIP3 PPF files could be used with new press control systems from major press
manufacturers: Heidelberg, KBA, KOMORI, Man Roland and others. Unlike other ink key presetting software PressPerCent Pro runs on industry standard Macintosh computers and doesn't contain built-in RIP of its own. Starting with PressPerCent version 2.0, separated PostScript and PDF jobs are processed by means of Adobe Acrobat applications or with Mac OS X PDF-engine (Quartz). This approach proved to be more effective and allows better compatibility than previous solution with built-in RIP. Depending on your printing press type and its inking system, values PressPerCent Pro calculates might be not very accurate, but anyway they might serve as a good starting point for printer to start with. PressPerCent Pro supports 'export plug-ins' that add to application ability to save data in formats other than Text or CIP3 PPF, like internal printing press job formats.
