autoEPSport – a plug-in module for Adobe Acrobat (Windows only) that automates the conversion of PDF files into EPS format.
While the PDF format is gaining momentum as a preferred graphics format within the publishing industry, some workflows are still not 100% PDF compatible. Applications as well as ripping software may have problems handling and rendering PDF files. As a result, many PDF files are converted into EPS format in the workflow.
Adobe Acrobat already has a built-in EPS export function that works in one-file-at-a-time or in batch mode. AutoEPSport adds hot folders to this function. When using autoEPSport, a PDF file that arrives in a specified input folder is automatically opened and converted into EPS using predefined settings. autoEPSport automatically keeps a copy of the original file and moves all files that for some reason cannot be converted to EPS, to an error folder.
The hot folder principle, as well as a familiar settings interface, makes autoEPSport very easy to integrate into hot folder based workflows, working together with i.e. Acrobat Distiller, PitStop Server and other hot folder
savvy workflow products.
